Dr. Rajesh Kumar is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Bucknell University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Syracuse University and holds master’s degrees in Computer Applications from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and in Applied Mathematics from Louisiana Tech University. His research focuses on behavioral biometrics and human-centered machine intelligence, with applications in cybersecurity, academic and social media integrity, and accessibility. He has published over 30 research papers in leading ACM and IEEE venues, including ACM CCS, ACM Transactions on Privacy and Security (TOPS), IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior, and Identity Science (T-BIOM), and the IEEE International Joint Conference on Biometrics (IJCB). His work has received several recognitions, including the Best Poster — Critics’ Choice Award at LoG 2026 New Delhi meet, the Best Paper Award at IJCB 2024, and the Highest Impact Paper Award at CVPR Workshops. He has also received four Best Reviewer Awards from IEEE IJCB (2021, 2023, 2024, 2025) and has served on multiple National Science Foundation (NSF) review panels evaluating over $20 million in research proposals, reflecting national and international recognition of his expertise. Dr. Kumar is committed to research-driven teaching and mentorship. He has taught a broad range of undergraduate computer science courses, including introductory computing for STEM and non-STEM students, data structures, computer systems, machine learning, computer security, and biometrics. He has mentored over 30 undergraduate researchers through the Biometrics Research and Development Group (BRAG). His students have earned national recognition, including two CRA Honorable Mentions, second prize in the ACM Student Research Competition, and a Best Poster Award at the Susquehanna Valley Undergraduate Research Symposium.
